Keele University Students: Powering AEDdonate Through Placement Partnerships
At AEDdonate, our work is driven by community spirit, and every year we are proud to welcome Keele pharmacy student placements into our team. These placements give students the opportunity to volunteer within a busy charity, gain practical experience and make a genuine difference to local communities. From supporting our donation centre to helping in our charity shops, Keele pharmacy student placements play an important role in keeping our day-to-day operations running smoothly.
Their contribution goes far beyond practical support.
Keele students bring fresh ideas, creativity and enthusiasm to AEDdonate. They help generate new fundraising suggestions, explore innovative ways to engage local communities, and provide valuable perspectives that help us reach wider audiences. Their energy and insight strengthen our organisation and play an important part in helping AEDdonate continue to grow.
Real Experiences, Real Impact
We are incredibly proud of the positive experiences students gain while on placement with us. Here is what some of them had to say about their time at AEDdonate:
“As part of my placements, I spent three weeks with AEDdonate. Throughout my time here I gained valuable experience by learning the importance of the charity’s goals and taking part in the day-to-day activities of the team. The team are very welcoming and provided opportunities such as learning first aid and how to perform CPR. The insight I gained has helped me develop professionally and I am grateful for the opportunity.” – Tom
“I have honestly enjoyed my time at AEDdonate. I have spent two placement blocks here and it has given me a new perspective on the benefits of helping the community. The staff are inviting, welcoming and genuine. I have helped in charity shops, the donation centre and the main office, which has allowed me to build confidence and teamwork skills. I would recommend anyone to come and volunteer here.” – Jawaria
“This placement has been really enjoyable, from being part of such a wonderful team to helping in the donation centre and charity shops. I have learned so much about defibrillators and their importance within the community. I am thankful to have gained insight into how the charity operates and to develop my teamwork and communication skills.” – Jasmeen
“My placement at AEDdonate has been a valuable experience and allowed me to receive CPR and defibrillator training. This has significantly improved my understanding of how to recognise a cardiac arrest and operate an AED. Overall, this experience allowed me to develop practical lifesaving skills and improve my communication and teamwork.” – Malaika
“My placement with AEDdonate has been really rewarding, learning CPR and lifesaving skills from a kind and supportive team and seeing the impact their hard work has on different communities. It has been a pleasure to take part and get involved, and I would recommend others to do the same.” – Lucas
“I really enjoyed my placement journey at AEDdonate. This valuable experience helped me enhance my communication skills, confidence and understanding of how AEDdonate supports public safety. I learned how the availability of defibrillators can help save lives, and I found all the staff very supportive and welcoming.” – Taha
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my placement at AEDdonate as it allowed me to gain valuable experience and a deeper understanding of healthcare. Prior to this placement I had little first aid training or awareness of how to use defibrillators. Gaining this training and being involved in all aspects of the charity will greatly benefit my future practice as a healthcare professional.” – Saph
