First Steps Nursery Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign

At First Steps Nursery, we believe that every community should have rapid access to life-saving equipment when an emergency occurs. That’s why we have launched our Help Save a Life Campaign to raise funds for a publicly accessible defibrillator (AED) outside our nursery on Orrell Street, Bury.

A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any age, without warning. In those first crucial minutes, access to a nearby defibrillator can significantly improve a person’s chances of survival. By installing an AED in a highly visible, accessible location, we can help support local residents, parents, visitors, workers and businesses across the BL8 area, providing vital assistance while emergency services are on their way.

Thanks to the incredible support of AEDdonate, who have pledged £300 from their Community Fund towards this project, the total cost of purchasing and installing the defibrillator package has been reduced to £1,654. This generous contribution has given our campaign a fantastic start and brought us one step closer to making this lifesaving resource available to everyone in our community.

The funds raised will cover the defibrillator, secure outdoor cabinet, professional installation, signage, and ongoing support and maintenance to ensure the device remains rescue-ready for years to come.

This project is about more than purchasing equipment; it’s about creating a lasting legacy that could one day save the life of a friend, neighbour, family member or colleague. Every donation, no matter how large or small, brings us closer to our goal and helps make Bury a safer place for everyone.
