Behind the Scenes, Making a Big Difference: Carol’s Story

Not every volunteer is front and centre. Some, like Carol, make a powerful impact from behind the scenes, helping AEDdonate run smoothly every day.

Carol first joined us in the donation centre, sorting items and supporting our retail team. But it quickly became clear that her strengths lay in organisation and admin. Before long, she had moved into the office, where she now supports our team with everything from counting donations to following up after defibrillator deployments.

She helps check in with communities after their defibrillators have been used, supports the team with day-to-day admin, and assists with keeping our records accurate and up to date, all with warmth, dedication and a genuine care for the cause.

Carol brings care, consistency, and a brilliant sense of humour to everything she does. Whether she’s making calls, sorting through paperwork, or keeping the team smiling with a cup of tea, her presence makes a difference.

“I love being in the office supporting the AEDdonate team. It’s great to be able to give back to my community,” Carol says.

Carol reminds us that volunteering comes in many forms, and every role matters when it comes to saving lives.
