Event details
Our Defibrillator Guardian Training Session is a free online Zoom event designed for individuals responsible for maintaining and managing defibrillators in their workplace or community. A well-maintained defibrillator can save lives. Therefore, ensuring equipment is ready for use at all times is essential.
This session supports both current and aspiring Defibrillator Guardians by providing clear, practical guidance on routine checks, reporting, and emergency readiness. In addition, we explain how small, consistent actions help keep life-saving equipment operational when it is needed most.
During the session, we will cover:
The role of a Defibrillator Guardian and why regular checks matter
How to carry out routine inspections and basic maintenance
What to do if a defibrillator is not ready for use
The correct process during an emergency deployment
How to return a defibrillator to service after use
How to safely remove a device for maintenance
How to use your defibrillator management system for updates and reporting
Furthermore, we provide step-by-step walkthroughs using real examples so you can apply what you learn with confidence.
This Defibrillator Guardian Training Session is ideal for staff, volunteers, school teams, and anyone responsible for community or workplace defibrillators. By attending, you will gain confidence in checking, maintaining, and reporting on essential equipment.
Because defibrillators play a critical role in emergency response, regular monitoring is vital. As a result, your actions as a Defibrillator Guardian can directly support faster, more effective responses during cardiac emergencies.
Although this session focuses on awareness and practical guidance, it does not provide a formal first aid qualification.
If you would like to build additional confidence, we also offer Defibrillator Awareness Training sessions. These sessions focus on how to use AEDs, understand cabinet access, and support wider community readiness.
