Online Defibrillator and CPR Awareness Session

Event details

6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Our Online Defibrillator and CPR Awareness Session gives you the confidence and knowledge to respond quickly in a cardiac emergency. Every year, thousands of people experience out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. However, when someone starts CPR immediately and uses a defibrillator early, survival chances increase significantly.

During this live session, we explain how to recognise cardiac arrest and show you exactly what to do. You will learn how to deliver hands-only CPR confidently. In addition, we demonstrate how an automated external defibrillator (AED) works and why it is safe to use. Most importantly, we break everything down into simple, practical steps.

Because this session runs online, you can join from anywhere. As a result, more people can access lifesaving knowledge without needing prior medical experience.

What You Will Learn in This Defibrillator Awareness Session

  • A brief overview of Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • How to operate an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely

  • Information on cabinet access and best practices

  • Tips for defibrillator maintenance and readiness

  • Understanding the role of a defibrillator guardian

  • What happens when an AED is deployed

Why Attend?

When more people understand CPR and defibrillator use, communities become safer. For example, quick action in the first few minutes can double or even triple survival rates.

By attending the Online Defibrillator and CPR Awareness Session, you strengthen your ability to act calmly and confidently. Although this session does not provide a formal qualification, it equips you with practical awareness that could help save a life.

This session is for awareness purposes only and provides a brief overview of CPR and AED use. It does not result in a formal first aid qualification or certificate.

Expand Your Lifesaving Skills with Bleed Kit Awareness Training

If you want to expand your lifesaving skills further, we also run Bleed Kit Awareness Training sessions on Zoom. These teach how to respond to bleeding emergencies and maintain community safety equipment. Attending both sessions gives you a broader set of emergency response skills.
