The Poachers Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign

The Poachers is partnering with AEDdonate to raise funds for one external defibrillator for the outside of their pub. This life-saving device will be accessible to anyone in the event of a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA).

Why a Defibrillator at The Poachers is So Important
Each year in the UK, over 30,000 people suffer a Sudden Cardiac Arrest outside of a hospital. Tragically, 620 of these are under the age of 35, and 270 are children, often while at school, in public places, or at events.

Having a defibrillator on-site, ready to use within the first 3 minutes of an SCA, can increase survival chances to over 80%. That’s why having a defibrillator at The Poachers could be the difference between life and death.

How a Defibrillator Will Help the community 

Once installed, the defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance trust and available for the public to use 24/7.

This doesn’t replace emergency services. Instead, it provides immediate, potentially life-saving intervention while the ambulance is enroute. The quicker the shock is delivered, the greater the chance of survival.
