Rising Brook Baptist Church, Stafford, is fundraising for a community-access defibrillator to be installed at the church for the benefit of both the congregation and the wider local community.

As a church that serves people of all ages through worship services, community groups, children’s activities and outreach programmes, we believe it is important to provide access to lifesaving equipment that could make a critical difference during a medical emergency.

Every minute matters when someone suffers a sudden cardiac arrest. Having a publicly accessible defibrillator available on site could help save a life by providing immediate assistance before emergency services arrive.

Our church is at the heart of the local community, welcoming hundreds of people through its doors each year. By installing a defibrillator, we hope to create a safer environment not only for those attending church activities but also for residents, visitors and anyone in the surrounding area who may need access to this vital equipment.

With the support of AEDdonate, we are hoping to raise funds for the defibrillator, external cabinet and installation so that it can be available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Any donation, fundraising support or share of this campaign will help us take one step closer to making Rising Brook a safer community for everyone.

Why a Defibrillator is So Important

Every year in the UK, more than 30,000 people suffer an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Sadly, fewer than 1 in 10 survive.

When a cardiac arrest occurs, every minute without CPR and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by around 10%. Early intervention, including CPR and the use of a defibrillator, can dramatically increase survival rates.

Despite this, public access defibrillators are used in only a small percentage of cases, highlighting the need for more devices to be available within our communities.

How a Defibrillator Will Help the Community

Once installed, the defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance service and available for public use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The device does not replace emergency medical care. Instead, it provides immediate support while an ambulance is on its way. The sooner a defibrillator can be used, the greater the chance of survival.

By installing a publicly accessible defibrillator at Rising Brook Baptist Church, we can help provide reassurance and potentially lifesaving support to local residents, visitors and those attending church activities.
