Welshpool CrossFit & Transformer Fitness Defibrillator Fundraising Campaign

Welshpool CrossFit and Transformer Fitness are proud to be partnering with AEDdonate to raise funds for a new public access external defibrillator. This life-saving device will be available to anyone experiencing a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), helping to protect gym members, visitors, neighbouring businesses, and the wider Welshpool community.

Why a Defibrillator is So Important

Each year in the UK, more than 40,000 people suffer a sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital. Sadly, fewer than 1 in 10 people survive.

In a sudden cardiac arrest, every second counts. Without immediate CPR and defibrillation, the chance of survival decreases by around 10% for every minute that passes. Early CPR and rapid access to a defibrillator can dramatically improve the chances of survival.

Despite this, public access defibrillators are used in only around 9% of cases, highlighting the urgent need to make these life-saving devices more readily available within our communities.

How This Defibrillator Will Help the Community

Once installed, the defibrillator will be registered with the local ambulance service and will be available for public use.

It will not replace the emergency services but will provide immediate, potentially life-saving treatment while an ambulance is on its way. The sooner a defibrillator can be used, the greater the chance of survival.
