Sutton Bridge is a small village on the very eastern border of Lincolnshire. Yes, it does actually have a bridge (see photo). This bridge is the only direct road link from Lincolnshire into Norfolk, which is our main receiving hospital. Unfortunately when the bridge swings around (high tide to let cargo vessels through) can close the road along with access to an emergency department for about 20 mins. Lincolnshire is very much a retirement area (and predominantly cardiac arrests occur in the elderly population) no matter the patients age defibrillator is a must for shockable cardiac arrests and having to wait a further 20 minutes makes it an untenable situation.

As a retired Paramedic I can attest to the need for rapid access to a defibrillator. I sat thinking the other evening about the need for a defibrillator on the ‘Falklands Estate’ which predominantly house older people with no one near them who can run/walk drive a mile and a half to collect the only 24/7 defibrillator in the village.

I/we would really appreciate every spare penny that you can donate to this vital piece of equipment. Thank you!
