Garry and Craig are taking on a special challenge to raise funds for a public access defibrillator for their community. They will be completing a sponsored ride to Chelmsford, with the aim of helping make life saving equipment more accessible to those who need it most.
Every year in the United Kingdom, over 30,000 people experience a sudden cardiac arrest outside of hospital. Sadly, survival rates remain low, with fewer than one in ten people surviving.
In these situations, every minute counts. Without immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation and access to a defibrillator, the chances of survival decrease by around ten percent for every minute that passes.
Having a defibrillator nearby can make a vital difference while waiting for emergency services to arrive.
The aim of this fundraising ride is to install a publicly accessible defibrillator that can be used by anyone in an emergency. Once installed, it will be registered with the local ambulance service and available twenty four hours a day.
This will provide reassurance to local residents, visitors, and anyone passing through the area, knowing that help is close by in a critical situation.
Garry and Craig are putting in the effort, and they would greatly appreciate your support. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps bring this life saving equipment closer to being installed.
