AED for Claverdon Benefice Housing Association

Claverdon Benefice Housing Association Limited

Claverdon Benefice Housing Association urgently requires a Defibrillator (or AED), to be located outside its office for easy public access, 24/7, to assist with events of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)!  Why?

  • 100,000 deaths from SCA occur each year in the UK.
  • 270 children die in the UK every year after suffering a SCA at school.
  • 70% of SCA occur outside of a hospital environment.
  • 50% increase in surviving a SCA with CPR.
  • 33% increase in victim’s chance of survival when an AED is used.
  • 90-95% of SCA Victims will die without immediate treatment.
  • If an AED is used and effective CPR is performed within 3-5 mins of SCA victim’s chance of survival increase from 6% to 74%.
  • For every minute that goes by where a victim of SCA does not receive treatment, their chance of survival decreases by 10-14%.

Claverdon Benefice Housing Association and the surrounding area (within the prescribed walking distance to an AED of 2 minutes) includes the church and church centre.  In addition to the many events held at the church and church centre, numerous members of the local community walk, ride or drive past this area.

Although a defibrillator is located outside the community shop, it would be too far away from the targeted location to be of practical use to assist in the event of a SCA so we’d welcome your donation to help us install one outside the office of the Claverdon Benefice Housing Association, which would be readily accessible by the local community.

Every £1 would help us achieve this and if we raise more than enough to get the system installed and commissioned, we would put any excess towards the low ongoing maintenance charges as necessary after use.

Reclaim Gift Aid

Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows AEDdonate to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to AEDdonate we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you. Gift Aid is claimed by AEDdonate goes towards the running costs of our Charity.

Please ensure that you have inputted your address above so that we can claim your Gift Aid.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like AEDdonate to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that AEDdonate will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When AEDdonate receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.
