Did you know 100,000 people die through Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) every year?
No? You can help cut that death toll today… what if tomorrow is too late?
100,000 people a year die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), 270 of these deaths happen to children within schools. If defibrillation takes place within the first three minutes of a SCA, the patient’s chances of survival increase by upwards of 80%.
Having an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week makes early defibrillation achievable and can help to save lives.
Longton South Councillor Lilian Dodd is working alongside AEDdonate to fundraise to have 16 AED’s installed in her ward. Each defibrillator, which will be installed in a security coded, vandal proof, heat regulated external storage cabinet will cost just under £2000. Each time £2000 worth of fund raising is achieved an AED will be installed at one of the 16 sites listed below.
