100,000 people a year die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), 620 of these are people under the age of 35 and 270 of these deaths happen to children within schools. If defibrillation takes place within the first three minutes of a SCA, the patient’s chances of survival increase by upwards of 80%.
The estate of Oldacres Road in Trentham are working alongside AEDdonate to have a defibrillator installed on their platform. Having the defibrillator installed means that, through link to the Local Ambulance Service it is available to the local community 24/7.
You can help Oldacres Road with their fundraising campaign by making a donation using the link on this page, by taking on a fundraising challenge or simply by doing your everyday online shopping with major retailers through the website Give As You Live and nominating AEDdonate as the charity you wish to support.
If you are interested in becoming a Community Champion yourself or are aware of any places which may benefit from having public access to a defibrillator then please contact AEDdonate office on 01785 472224 or firstname.lastname@example.org. We will help you manage the campaign from start to finish, helping you to help your community on its way to becoming heart safe.
