The Oates family are working alongside AEDdonate to fundraise for a defibrillator, available to the community 24/7, to ultimately save lives.
AEDdonate is committed to improving the chances of survival from out of hospital cardiac arrests. We achieve this by supporting the placement and use of defibrillators (AED’s) into local communities.
It is recommended that AED’s are placed no further than a 2 minute walk from each other, meaning that more defibrillators are needed in communities like ours.
30,000 people die each year from out of hospital SCA’s, 620 of these people are under the age of 35 and 270 of these deaths happen to children within schools. If defibrillation takes place within the first 3 minutes of a SCA, that patient’s chances of survival increase by upwards of 80%.
