On the 14th April we had the great pleasure in announcing the winner for our first raffle car. The draw took place down at the Hill and Swift showroom in Meaford and was witnessed by the AEDdonate team, Gary Swift, Charity Trustees and our live Facebook audience (the recording can be found by clicking here)
Gareth Dean from Newport, Shropshire is now the proud owner of the car and initially thought our phone call to say he was the winner was a scam! He then remembered he’d purchased a ticket a while back and was delighted to drive his prize away. Gareth knows first-hand just how important defibrillators are and initially bought his ticket after hearing about the Stone Cherryfields Defibrillator Campaign.
We watched the little Fiesta drive off on its merry way on the Friday 4th May. The raffle car plays a huge part in our team and provides a massive opportunity for us to engage in the community. The car gets our name out and about, helps to spark the conversation around defibrillators and how important they are in the community. As a small charity with a big mission we definitely need wheels on the road.
We’re so grateful for the continued support we’ve received from Hill and Swift our local independent Ford dealer, without their help and dedication this project would never have been possible.
