St Mary’s School in Uttoxeter will better protected after the installation of a new Defibrillator on Monday 27th November.

The AED (Automated External Defibrillator) was funded by Students, Staff, Parents and a generous donation from Cinebowl in Uttoxeter.

The AED has been installed on the wall on the school hall and will be available to the school and community during school hours.

Sue Wade, Headteacher said:  We would like to thank everyone for their donations, we hope we never have to use it, but if it saves just one life it’s well worth the effort.

Jamie Richards, Chief Executive of AEDdonate; who supplied the AED said “The chance of survival after Sudden Cardiac Arrest decreases minute by minute, but if someone is shocked with a Defibrillator within 3 minutes their chance of survival increases by 70 {d30390558f9e4508be1047a3a1acb6b4e0b00fabde10b462fce3f3fe1e727ecc} With this being my stepsons school a defibrillator within the building is a must.”

“Having an AED within a 1/2-mile radius from wherever you are I believe is a must.” “we would welcome further communities to get in touch to see if we can help.
