Members of the public were invited to attend a defibrillator awareness session at Meir Park Community Centre. The session was planned after a new defibrillator was installed close by at the Potters Bar pub.
The defibrillator was funded as part of a huge community fundraising initiative fuelled by the determination of youngsters Meg and Lucie Woodworth.
The device is available 24/7 and registered with the ambulance service. Anyone needing the device should call 999 in the first instance and they will be given over the phone instructions to access the machine.
Our awareness courses are designed to demonstrate just how easy it is to use a defibrillator but also shows how to access one in an emergency. The session allows for questions and aims to offer reassurance and structure in what can be an extremely stressful time. Anyone wishing to book on a course should check out our events page on facebook or contact us on 01785 472224 to arrange one of your own.
Thank you to everyone who attended and a huge thank you to Meg and Lucie for making it all possible
