It was a pleasure to be able to work with Churnet Valley Community First Responder (CFR) group recently. AEDdonate Charity Shop was able to boost fundraising efforts to help the group acquire a new defibrillator for their response vehicle.

Community First Responders are teams of volunteers who are trained by the local ambulance service to a nationally recognised level. They provide lifesaving treatment to people in their local communities.

As well as being run by volunteers CFR groups are financially self-supporting and rely on donations and fundraising events to support their schemes.

Jamie Richards CEO at AEDdonate said “we’re delighted to have been able to support a local group who are making such a difference in their community, thanks to Darren and the rest of the group for choosing to work with us.

A cardiac arrest can happen anywhere at any time at any age. Is your community protected? We can help you start a campaign to help equip your local area with a defibrillator. An AED is intended to be used prior to the ambulance arriving on scene, the first 3-5 minutes are vital and could really help to save someone’s life. Defibrillators are easy to use with each machine giving step by step instructions.
